Of course we cannot always share details about our work with customers, but nevertheless it is nice to show our technical achievements and share some of our implemented solutions.
Another calendar year is ending soon and the end of year holidays are just around the corner. Time to sit down, have a coffee or tea and reflect on the completed and planned projects.
The biggest project of this year was definitely the migration of our primary data center. We have migrated all our physical servers and therefore our primary infrastructure into a new and ISO-27001 certified data center. The servers and data remain in Switzerland, in the region of Zurich, and are now even better secured than before.
At the same time we used the migration to upgrade our hardware stack with new server models and new network equipment. We have significantly increased the internal bandwidth and computing resources.
Besides the data center migration, we've worked on many other interesting tasks and projects for our customers:
For once there are (finally) no additional administrative fees or changes to be expected in the next year. In the past three years we had to tackle annually increasing costs of electricity. For next year the data center costs should remain stable, which allows us a better planning and usage of our resources.
On the technical side, we're involved in consulting a large company migrating to a new metrics-based monitoring. On our own infrastructure we plan to add new managed services and collaborations with international partners.
With the review of the old and the outlook into the new year, let's go back to where this post started: The year's end and its festivities. Let's all take a deep breath, slow down for a couple of days and recharge our cells.
